Sick
Posted: March 25, 2003 Filed under: Archives Leave a comment »I’ve come down with a slight cold, so I feel like crap and thus haven’t added any new chapters to my on-line book. I’ll get back to writing when I feel better. Oh yeah, don’t even BOTHER to ask if i watched the Oscars ‘cuz you know I didn’t!
Book writing
Posted: March 22, 2003 Filed under: Archives Leave a comment »After a late meal at the local Denny’s followed by a couple rounds of “glow in the dark” mini-golf, I went home and started to work on my book again which as you may or may not know I am simulcasting in both my site. And since it is put on line as it is written, I’m not sure how it’s going to turn out.
This is a really exciting for an author, and I’ll explain more as you read it. I’m still at Chapter 1, so you haven’t missed anything yet. I hope you enjoy. It feels good to be writing like this again instead of just columns all the time.
War
Posted: March 20, 2003 Filed under: Archives Leave a comment »So we’re officially at war with a country that probably had nothing to do with the September 11 attacks, but what the hell, right? President W has some unfinished business because of Daddy’s War back in 1991, so out come the guns and the tanks. I just pray everyone comes back safe and sound.
I know Canada isn’t getting into the battle this time, but my thoughts and prayers go out to the troops of the USA armed forces who are risking their lives to take care of some unfinished business.
And if that wasn’t enough, I’m already in a bad mood today because of someone who hurt a friend of mine. Don’t worry, chances are it’s not YOU reading this who has angered me… it’s one person who shall go sans-name for now, but she can burn in hell for all I care…. as you may have guessed…. the weekend isn’t coming fast enough.
I went to Wal-Mart and bought some new tan pants and a denim skirt. How’s your War-Filled week been?
Green Beer Day is here once again
Posted: March 17, 2003 Filed under: Archives Leave a comment »While we are almost on the brink of war, I just want to wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick’s Day. I’m not Irish, but the red hair certainly helps. (I also have a green satin blouse too.) Growing up in Sea Isle City, there were plenty of Irish people in town, so March 17 is a big day in my books.
If you’re heading out there, play safe and don’t drink too much.
Again with the writing…
Posted: March 14, 2003 Filed under: Archives Leave a comment »Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed I sit here thinking my thoughts through and doing some writing. Check it out… it will make for some nice Friday morning reading! So grab your coffee, throw away the newspaper and get ready for some mindless Internet related stuff! (Yup, totally overselling it.)
I am also going to get at least more columns from my Montreal days up on line soon, so you will be able to read more.
Ribs finally happened
Posted: March 11, 2003 Filed under: Archives Leave a comment »The better part of Monday evening was spent at the all-you-can-eat Riblet feast at Applebee’s, where I got more than my money’s worth.I have been craving it since last month when I planned to go and only now finally made it out there.
I also updated my site with some interesting thoughts, and no sooner had I done, I found out what my next big adventure is going to be; I’m heading back to Montreal for a few days for work-related mayhem. This means of course I have to squeeze in my time at the gym tomorrow and pack my bags because my train leaves in the afternoon.
I would like to drive myself, but since it’s all paid for, I guess I could live with the train. I’ll try and give some updates while I am away, if not, I will be back early next week.
The next thing
Posted: March 7, 2003 Filed under: Archives Leave a comment »After getting a rather late start on today, I did manage to get to the gym, work out, come home, change, go computer shopping seeing as I need a new computer, do two loads of laundry AND finally update my site. This is good news seeing as I have been trying for almost 2 days now.
I am also looking for “the next big thing” to come along in my life, so it’s good that I had some time to think about it. No word yet on what it will be.
Thoughts and more thoughts
Posted: March 6, 2003 Filed under: Archives Leave a comment »This is where I would be telling you to go and check out my newest entry, except for the fact that after 15 minutes of solid writing, my computer was either too slow for what I was doing or my crappy dial-up internet service was became like an old man who forgets his pants, and just dropped what I was loading – and lost my work.
This is really a shame seeing as I had some great thoughts/rants about Britney Spears and everyone who she has slept with her, which by the way, you can assume is a lot of people.
I woke up from a much needed long nap and made some sweeping changes. I was reading the older updates from 2002 and saw that by this time last year, they seemed more interesting.
I was also doing something close to nothing by surfing the ‘net and went to check out director Kevin Smith’s (Clerks, Mallrats, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back) diary about his newest movie JERSEY GIRL. You gotta love the title except for the fact that Jennifer Whore-pez is in it. Yeah, I know that totally blows, but since it’s about my “homestate” and since it IS a Kevin Smith film I will give it a shot when it comes out. (Making it my FIRST Jennifer Lopez movie that I will ever watch)
Smith says the movie clocks in at 2 hours and 18 minutes, but I’m sure he will cut it down a bit. I will try again to fix my my site so that you can read my thougts – as evil as they are, but since right now even the server that runs my diary is down, I’m not going to bother linking it.
Fat Tuesday
Posted: March 4, 2003 Filed under: Archives Leave a comment »Happy Mardi Gras everyone! It’s the day to eat like crazy and have a great time and then give it all up for 40 days starting on Wednesday. I don’t know what, if anything, I will be giving up for Lent, but I guess whatever I don’t end up doing for those 40 days will count.
I didn’t end up going to the gym again on Monday which was very bad of me, so I will have to cut out the snacks and spend some extra time on the StairMaster on Wednesday. I also heard that my friend Charley might be coming to town next month, which would be totally awesome. Seeing as she has been doing some writing with me, it would be great to have almost all the writers I know in one city.
And for me, still no plans for St. Patrick’s Day this year yet. I’m guessing with all the pubs in town I will think of something, but nothing is set in stone. I will keep you posted.
March has begun
Posted: March 2, 2003 Filed under: Archives Leave a comment »Two months down, ten to go… They say that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, or maybe it’s the other way around. No matter, it’s been one hell of a winter and I will be glad to get rid of it.
I never did make it to the movie the other day, so I have plenty of movie-watching and snack-munching to catch up on. (Didn’t I say that temptation is virtually everywhere?) That reminds me, I have to go the gym again this week. I did so some shopping and went out again, but nothing too amazing.
